Kiamichi River (Southeastern Oklahoma near Antlers) The river is 165 miles long. Canoe Trips, camping, floating, swimming, fishing.  The Kiamichi River has head waters near Mena, Arkansas and feeds into the Red River near Hugo, Oklahoma. The river runs through the Kiamichi Mountain Range. (Oklahoma's Little Smokies) While generally a flat, slow moving river it can rain and create some Class I-II whitewater and even gets dangerous at springtime high water levels. Lots of good scenic canoeing for up to 100 miles if you have the time. No commercialization along this river. Rarely any human life along the way, just lots of nature.  Plenty of camping, ranches and cabins in the area around Beavers Bend and Broken Bow.  A good place to launch is at the Hwy 271 bridge at Antlers, K River Campground which is 8 mi north of Antlers on Hwy 2, and at Clayton, OK, Hwy 271 bridge.  US Highway 259 at Big Cedar
